“El humor al servicio del afrociberactivismo en España: Asaari Bibang y Lamine Thior”
This talk by Odome Angone (Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar) and María Ignacia Schulz (International University of La Rioja), both specialists in literature and activismo afro in the Spanish-speaking world, revolved around the issue of the growing visibility of African and Afrodescendant writers, artists and activists from Spain on the internet.
It took as examples the humorous monologues that Asaari Bibang and Lamine Thior share on their social media profiles and investigates the notions of “afrocyberactivism” and anti-racist humour as a decolonial tool. It was moderated by Julia Borst and was part of the Agora event series organised by the interdisciplinary and collaborative research platform Worlds of Contradiction of U Bremen.
